Secret Desires Released!

Posted by Nora Quick on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, In : Books
Secret Desires has been released, and Manic Readers has given it 5 of 5 stars! You can read the full review now.

I have been MIA for quite some time, and I am sorry for that. In short, began working more hours at my day job, going through nightmaric family drama, spending half my free time at home and half with my boyfriend, been experiencing terrible writer's block, and also ran out of ideas for a new blog series now that How to Write and Publish a Novel is completed.

However, a different kind...

Missive From the Darkness

Posted by Nora Quick on Saturday, July 16, 2016, In : A Writer's Life
First up, I have finished the content editing on Secret Desires, which is currently due out in December of 2016, but that is not final and we may actually have a release date in October depending on red Sage's schedule.

On the other hand, you can see I have not been blogging, posting to literotica, or otherwise active as of late. Sadly, in addition to working a demanding job and sending all my spare time hunting for a new one. In addition, I have had some serious health issues.

I discovered I a...

5 Reasons Authors Are Socially Awkward (And How To Fix it)

Posted by Nora Quick on Sunday, January 17, 2016, In : A Writer's Life
It's very interesting being a published author of not much note (yet, I hope) who meets new people all the time. It brings up a problem every author I know has: talking about your books with strangers is as awkward as discussing sex with your child.

This actually goes for all writers of fiction. Non-fiction is much easier, for reasons that will become apparent soon. Even if you have only written a short story, when someone you don't know very well asks about it, you stumble.

Why do published au...

106-3: I Have That Goddamn Vitamin C Song Stuck In My Head Too....

Posted by Nora Quick on Saturday, August 8, 2015, In : Writing 106

We made it to the end. If you are reading this, you have a website, a blog, and social media accounts under your publishing name. You have a completed, published book, you are a member of a writing group, you’ve been attending events as an author, and you’re working hard at marketing yourself. Maybe you have an agent, a publishing contract, or you have a growing reputation as an Indie author.

If you followed all the lessons, whatever your goal was, you have reached it, the first and most i...

Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay....

Posted by Nora Quick on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, In : A Writer's Life

For the first time in my life since I began writing fiction at age four or five I am taking an intentional break from writing. I’ve taken long breaks before (when school/work got too heavy, or due to suffering depression I couldn’t focus) but those were times I had to. Now is by choice.

I freely admit I have suffered three bouts of depression in my life. The first time was when my mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness and quickly faded, dying just one year later. That was the worst ...

Of Math, Psychology, and Secret Desires: Delayed Monday Rant

Posted by Nora Quick on Thursday, May 7, 2015, In : A Writer's Life
Hello there,

Thank you for patiently waiting for a delayed Monday rant. It’s been a busy weekend and week for me, lots of babysitting, a dental visit that left me talking like Sly Stallone for hours, a 16 hour workday, and more trolls on the literotica forum. *whew*

As a note, Literotica was updating their site and I was not been able to even load it in some time, so the next chapter of Thief In the Night has been delayed, but has been submitted now that Literotica is back up. Ah, life. At le...

Updates on My Free Stories

Posted by Nora Quick on Sunday, December 7, 2014, In : Site Updates & News
Since 2007 I've been a loyal writer on Literotica. I've won 4 awards on there and had some great experiences (except in the forums. Sadly, like any site, the forum is just filled with trolls because the poor mods are vastly outnumbered). I recommend you check out Literotica.com if you enjoy erotic stories (and even non-erotic ones, there's everything there.)

I had predicted story orders before but of course there was a reshuffling thanks to the interminable work on making The Violin Case work ...

It's time to take stock of my life, my writing life. I don't take much stock of my life in general, for in general i leave my livestock alone. However things are gearing up.

Quickly, I have a new story in literotica in the Halloween Contest now, a short erotic horror. Please check out Blood On The Moon and be sure to vote, thanks!
